New Battery Back-Up for 96K Series Automatic Sliding Doors

Harwood Heights, IL - April 20, 2003 Dor-O-Matic, a division of Ingersoll-Rand Security & Safety, announces a new accessory that can be a valuable asset if the power goes out. Dor-O-Matic's BBU250 battery back-up system allows building occupants to exit safely and conveniently without forcing the automatic sliding doors open.

Unlike most battery packs, the Dor-O-Matic system provides uninterrupted service with all safeties active, and will continue to operate until the safeties are deactivated and the doors can be securely locked. Typically, battery packs stop operation and then either hold doors open or closed, which can make exiting difficult and jeopardize store security.

The BBU250 provides three modes of operation: 1) normal, 2) open and hold open, 3) close and remain closed. It provides auxiliary power, up to a maximum of 250 cycles or 2 hours, until the safety controls are de-activated, and the doors can be securely locked.

The BBU250 is compact and designed specifically to fit into the 96K headers. It is energy efficient and utilizes a 24-volt automatic recharge for prolonged emergencies.

Additional information on the BBU250 battery back-up system is available from Dor-O-Matic, Inc., 7350 Wilson Avenue, Harwood Heights, IL 60706. Telephone 708-867-2940 or visit www.doromatic.com.
