NEW BENCHMARK DESIGN ENHANCEMENTS CREATE A STRONGER, MORE DURABLE ADA OPERATOR

Harwood Heights, IL - October 15, 2002 -- Dor-O-Matic, Inc, is pleased to announce enhancements to its Benchmark ADA automatic door operator. The Benchmark operator is a state of the art ADA operator that opens doors automatically with push plate activation systems and also functions as a normal pedestrian door that can be opened manually. The design enhancements include a new, wider gear, fabricated of a tough new substrate, and the addition of a spring damper in the shaft.

As the result of the design changes, the Benchmark operator is more durable, more reliable and better able to withstand the rigors of abusive traffic. The opening force has been reduced 20% to 30%. The spring damper, incorporated in the shaft, increases the flexibility of the unit, particularly in manual mode so that the operator is tougher and more durable to withstand forcing or shoving against the door when it is open or closed. With its strength and durability, Benchmark is ideal for sequence doors in vestibule applications.

Dor-O-Matic's Benchmark operator utilizes electro-mechanical design with microprocessor control. It is non-handed and can be used as a push or pull operator for interior or exterior applications. Benchmark features auto reverse on opening and offers adjustable time delay to adjust to conditions. It is ANSI A156.19 and UL 325 compliant.
